The Path

TODAY, I will walk in the path of heroes.

EVERYDAY, I wake up to the same challenges and fears and promise that my ancestors faced…will I be able to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs. Sure the individual circumstances may be different in each case, but the core challenges remain the same…except we have air conditioning and global communications and pasteurized milk.

I have lived a life possible only because people before me decided to walk, one step in front of the other, on this journey through life. They had struggles and doubts; they had triumphs and defeats; they had joy and sadness.  But most importantly, they had a desire to wake up each day and face a new set of challenges.

HOW do I know they were heroes? Because I am here…and I owe it to them to live a life that is worthy of the price they paid and to make sure the next generation has an ability to walk the same path, fully cognizant of the price our forefathers and foremothers paid.

About Me

An English diarist and naval administrator. I served as administrator of the Royal Navy and Member of Parliament. I had no maritime experience, but I rose to be the Chief Secretary to the Admiralty under both King Charles II and King James II through patronage, diligence, and my talent for administration.
